14,000 Shops Respond to Support Products with Copyright.

Intellectual Property Office (IPO) announced on December 2, 2004 that the activity of “ shops supporting product with copyright” has been initiated. Currently, there has been about 14,000 shops voluntarily responded to this activity of “do not sell counterfeits and pirates”.

 

In order to encourage people in relevant industries to participate in the line of “ protecting intellectual property,” Intellectual Property Office (IPO) yesterday held the activity of “shops supporting products with copyright” and designed a sticker with “ We don’t sell counterfeits and pirates” mark on it. They hope every shop would pay attention to excellent inventions and creations and maintain the wisdom outcome of inventor and creator’s efforts jointly with them.

 

The minister of IPO, Cai Lian-Sheng, indicated that they hope this activity would become social activity. Since they are limited by manpower, they can’t proceed with the works of certification and examination. Nevertheless, they expressed their hope that every shop could support the activity by means of not selling counterfeits and pirates as well as participating in the activity of putting the sticker on.

 

One representative of the group of business indicated that participating the activity would help to enhance positive image for the reputation of companies. (2004.12)
