Antidumping statute to be enforced as of January 1, 2002 in China is likely to cause trading disputes over Taiwan’s export of steel products to China

E011211Z6 Jan. 2002(E29)
China will enforce the antidumping statute as of January 1, 2002.  China Government will conduct investigation on and take antidumping measures against any goods, which are dumped into China since 2002 and also cause material damage to or produce threat of material damage on China industries, or interfere with the establishment of China industries, according to the statute.  This new statute is likely to increase trading disputes between the cross-strait steel manufacturers in the future and also produce considerable pressure on Taiwan’s export of steel products to China.
