Intellectual Property Office and Ministry of Justice cooperate to wipe out Counterfeit DM within Newspaper.

Intellectual Property Office of Ministry of Economic Affairs expressed that it has cooperated with Ministry of Justice to wipe out against illegal acts such as placing DM of selling counterfeits in newspapers, Internet infringement, selling counterfeits in night market, and etc.

In order to eradicate unworthy enterprises’ acts of using channel of placing DM in newspapers to sell pirates and counterfeits, Intellectual Property Office and Ministry of Justice have sent staff to promote to newspaper industry’s proprietors and their employees, indicting that placing menu of pirates and counterfeits within newspaper may violate Copyright Law. Besides, they also request Government Information Office to invite relevant proprietors of newspaper industry and proprietors of newspaper dispatch for discussion. In addition, law enforcement staff will conduct random inspection on spots of newspaper dispatch irregularly so as to restrain illegal act of distributing DM of selling counterfeit CD through placing DM within newspapers.(2005.2)
