BERI assessed that the investment environment in Taiwan ranked four in the world.

Swiss Business Environment Risk Intelligence (BERI) pointed out in the third “investment environment risk assessment” announced last December that Taiwan ranked four like Japan and Norway in the investment environment assessment among the global 50 cities. The total scores and ranking of Taiwan was the same as in the second assessment in 2003, simply inferior to Switzerland, Singapore, Holland and was the second place in Asia. The Business Environment Risk Intelligence is made based on “Operation Risk Index”, “Political Risk Index”, “Remittance and Repatriation Factor”, which are the criterions to assess the investment environments.

The investment environment in Taiwan was ranked to be the highest 1A and Taiwan was categorized to be one of the low-risk countries, where investment was appropriate. BERI thought that the Economic Development Advisory Conference (EDAC) in this country has carried out the agendas step by step and a stable condition was maintained. (2004.01)
