Pirated CDs Are Sold by Home Delivery to Flee Raid Action.

After the police’s reinforcement of raid on pirated CDs in night markets, the piracy rackets in Taiwan recently have developed “multi-channel selling”. The boldest method is to send the DM directly to mail boxes or to send e-mails, to provide the service of “home delivery” to those customers interested in pirated products, and the post-sale service of the return of defective products.

The police have paid highly attention to such latest selling method and have targeted the investigation into the whole market. The pirated CDs in the catalogues mostly contain popular music albums and hit films, even the films not released, and all kinds of cartoons and TV series. Therefore, people are always attracted by the “extraordinary low prices” to buy such pirated CDs and meanwhile introduce friends to such purchase. (2004.03)
