No Copyright Protection for Porn Video Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Economic Affairs reckons rated porn videos demands due protection with international practice.

Taipei District Court has charged the people who secretly reproduced pornography as not guilty since the court believes that video porn that reveals naked scenes have contravened the sterling natural of the society, thus not entitled to protection of Intellectual Property Rights. With respect to this, the Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Economic Affairs said that they would respect the decision made by the Judiciary authorities, however, long-standing international protection demands pornography be protected under Copyright Law, and that since Taiwan is one of a member countries in the WTO, our judiciary should not exclude itself from the world-wide practice, pornography should be restrained by other law.
