Foreign Offices in Taiwan Give Credit to the Establishment and Legalization of IPR Protection Police Team on November 1, 2004.

“IPR Protection Police Team” was formally established under the National Police Administration on November 1, 2004. Foreign offices, including American Institute in Taiwan, Interchange Association Japan, and American Cultural Center, etc. dispatched their staff to attend the establishment ceremony and appreciate Taiwan’s efforts on anti-piracy work and IPR protection.

 

On January 1, 2003, IPR Protection Police Team was established by task force, and 220 members in total were specifically assigned to investigate IPR infringement cases. After this establishment, a total of 2,970 cases of alleged IPR infringement, which involved 1,811 defendants and seized counterfeit products in the total estimated value of around NT$14,356,000,000, were cracked down.
