Asia's first Criminal Cases Database starts using

   After years of planning, the Criminal Cases Database System constructed by the Information Dept. of Criminal Investigation Bureau has finally started using on January 9.  This system is the first of its kind in Asia.  It has integrated information on criminal cases, such as judgments, indictments and transference data from judicial organs having competence in criminal matters, including the Judicial Yuan, Ministry of Justice and National Police Administration, as well as 500 million more data entries on ex-convicts' photos, criminals wanted by law, gangsters, pledges, entry and exit info, and car registration.  It will enable the police to quickly filter through all suspects and figure out the network structure among the codefendants.  The various police authorities will also be able to share the experiences and resources cumulated from their colleagues in previous cases, and thus beef up the criminal investigation.
