To be in line with the implementation of the Optical Disk Law, the customs officially launched the source identification (SID) code examination on pre-recorded disks. Machinery for import/export is also included in the scope of examination.  Violators will be punished pursuant to the Customs Preventive Statute.

The Board of Foreign Trade, MOEA announced on January 30, 2002 that 12 types of pre-recorded disks, including educational and informative disks, audio CDs, and read-only disks of which contents are finished films, recording, broadcasts and TV programs, are required to be imprinted with SID Code before export.
