Hon Hai & Sony research and develop the coming generation of game machines

T. M. Kuo, President of Hon Hai Group said yesterday (5th) that Hon Hai and Sony have formed a group to research and develop Sony’s coming generation of game machines – PS3. Besides, T. M. Kuo went to the U.S. the other days to discuss with U.S. Applied Materials about cooperation and successfully placed big orders for semiconductor facilities to Applied Materials. The value of the 2003 orders is about US$0.5 billion. T. M. Kuo said that Hon Hai’s global patents have ranked the 7^th in the information and electronics industries.  Meanwhile, for the purpose of strengthening its scientific and technical content in the manufacture area, Hon Hai has set up R&D centers in the U.S. and Japan in addition to making a program for investing tens of billion dollars in Taiwan to set up global R&D headquarters. Currently, the already invested development of nano level manufacture has become the most important development item for “scientific and technical Hon Hai.”
