Limitation on Foreigner’s Investment to be Relaxed

   In order to urge foreigners to invest in Taiwan, the Investment Commission will relax the limitation on the foreigners’ investment in the scope including real estate, wine-making industry, public certified accountants, attorneys and communication and transportation.

 

   The scope of business where the foreigners are fully prohibited from investing for the time being covers 25 lines of business.   The scope of business where the foreigners must acquire the competent authorities’ permit for their investment covers 50 lines of business.  Nevertheless, some businesses remain limited and prohibit foreigners’ investment, including port services and related services, air forwarding services, postal services, mining, short-term cram schools, hospitals, power industries and other industries involving the national security like firearms manufacturing industry.
