HP Confirming Establishment of Product Development Center in Taiwan

The global largest personal computer company, Hewlett-Packard Company, has confirmed that it will establish the first Asian PDC (Product Development Center) in Taiwan.

HP is also the largest foreign purchaser of information products in Taiwan.  The products it purchased in Taiwan amounted to five hundred billion NT dollars per year.  Its major associators in Taiwan include Hon Hai, Inventec, Quanta, Arima and First International.  Most of these manufacturers have upgraded their level from OEM to ODM.  Therefore, the coordination of design procedure becomes very important.  The establishment of the PDC can not only enable HP’s Taiwanese associators to connect with HP’s major bases in California and Houston effectively but also to solidify the collaborative relationships so as to shorten the length of time to have products hit the market.
