E020916X5 Oct. 2002(E38)

Hon Hai Group has received another order to OEM game machines.  Hon Hai is a long-time OEM of PS1 and PS2 game machines for Sony.  Hon Hai's subsidiary, O-RUN Technology Corporation, is said to have successfully taken Nintendo's OEM order for Game Boy and Game Cube.  The initial order has an estimated worth of NT$12 billion.  The trial production has taken place in September, and bulk products will be delivered beginning in October.  The total worth is estimated to exceed NT$25 billion in 2003.

It is understood that the OEM order for Nintendo's game machines was given to Taiwanese manufacturers: O-RUN for system assembly, Delta Electronics Inc. for power supplies, and Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board Corp. for PCB board.  Hon Hai itself already is the main OEM manufacturer of Sony PS2, and its brother company, Zheng Wei (transliterated from正葳) Co., Ltd., is the connector supplier of Microsoft X-Box.  With O-RUN taking up Nintendo assembly, Hon Tai Group has become the No. 1 OEM manufacturer of game machines in Taiwan.
