Acer Inc. and Microsoft Corp. to launch Tablet PC in the U.S. in November

Stan Shih, Chairman of The Acer Group and Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft Corporation will launch together the first convertible Tablet PC that combines traditional notebooks and innovative writing functions.  The world has been gazed at the Tablet PC before it is launched. The sales of such product in the Great China area in the first year are expected to reach 25% of the sales volume of Acer’s notebooks.

Acer’s convertible Tablet PC is a combination of the most natural pen-input writing on Tablet PC and the speedy processing capability of notebooks. The main characteristics are the natural input surface, the 180^o rotatable LCD display, easily portable and data protection, etc. The product uses the Chinese edition of Microsoft Windows - RXP Tablet PC operating system. Both parties will jointly create cooperative opportunities for marketing.
