Siemens to establish European business center in Taiwan

Siemens Chairman Karl-Hermann Baumann scheduled to visit Taiwan on November 14.  In addition to calling on high-ranking government officials, including President Chen Shui-bien, Dr. Baumann is also expected to announce Siemens' investment & purchase project in Taiwan for year 2003, and the establishment of a European business center in Neihu District, Taipei.  After the establishment of the said European business center, the application of which was jointly filed by Siemens and European Chamber of Commerce Taipei (ECCT), the headquarters of Siemens Limited Taiwan, German Trade Office Taipei, as well as other European business companies will all move to this site.  In the future, the center will serve as the headquarters of European businesses in Taiwan or become the office of European Union staff, and thus reinforce the ties between Taiwan and Europe, which shall stand as an even match against the U.S.
