The Executive Yuan passed on December 20, 2000 the “Agreement on Protection of Intellectual Property Right between the Republic of Paraguay and the Republic of China” which was submitted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The Agreement is drafted to the effect that the applications for invention patent, utility model patent, trademark, service mark, collective mark or certification mark filed by natural persons and juristic persons of either Party to the Agreement are entitled to priority, in view of reciprocity; meanwhile, either of the Parties to the Agreement may have access to the other Party’s information system and information relating to legal issues, exchange its own publications with the other Party and engage in interchange of technicians through training programs or practical training on the spot.
