Microsoft Asia Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the “Institute”), one of Microsoft’s four global research institutes, decided to expand the exchange and R&D cooperation with Taiwan. Presently, the Institute decides to cooperate with the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering of the National Taiwan University in fundamental research of the Embedded System. The both parties have established an associate laboratory and will transfer their achievement to local manufacturers directly. Microsoft also indicated that they will successively negotiate with other local academic organizations for further cooperation.
