Advanced Materials and other eight types of high-tech products to be on control list

   In line with the uplift of the ban on 8-inch chip makers from investing in the Mainland China, the Board of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs is deliberating on the scope of advanced technology products to be under control according to the Wassennaar Arrangement.  The preliminary control list includes advanced technology products falling into nine categories, including advanced materials, integrated circuits, processing of materials, and telecommunication etc.  The person or entity transferring technical equipment and technologies to Mainland China without authorization will be sentenced to imprisonment of not more than two years pursuant to Article 27 of the Foreign Trade Act.
