SOC National Technology Plan to be Subsidized with Budget of 7.6 Billion NT Dollars for Three Years

    The first-phase program of the SOC national technology plan included in the “Si-Soft” project came out on April 17, 2002.  In order to urge the local IC manufacturers to launch into transformation of technology, the plan schedules that the government will subsidize the manufacturers with budgets of 7.666 billion NT Dollars within three years.

 

    The “Si-Soft” project can be broken down into two parts, i.e. SOC national technology plan and Infrastructure of Si-Soft project (including education, environment and policy making, etc.).  The former is a five-year plan.  The first phase prolongs from 2002 to 2005.  The second phase prolongs from 2006 to 2007.  The ultimate goal of the plan is “building Taiwan as the SOC design center”.
