Prosecutors and Police in Taiwan and China Simultaneously Initiated Raid Against Enterprises for Illegal Reproduction and Use of Pirated Software.

  IPR Police Team announced on April 3, 2006 that they uncovered an enterprise illegally reproducing and using pirated software.

 

  This enterprise, located in Taipei, was raided by Taipei branch of IPR Police Team for being suspected of reproducing and illegally using the software of BSA members (Business Software Alliance).  In the raid, Taipei branch of IPR Police Team found that several PCs in this enterprise were installed with business software that is not legally licensed.

 

  Copyright administration authorities and public security of PRC simultaneously on the same day initiated a raid action against this enterprise’s business office situated in Kunshan, China and also uncovered illegal copied business software including Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD 2002, Adobe Photoshop, MasterCam, Windows XP, and Office.

 

  In the raid both in Taiwan and China, the value of the illegal software uncovered exceeds NT$10 million. (2006.04)
