Aiming to Vitalize Technology Patents Exchange And Eyeing to Be The Largest of Its Kind in Asia, 2006 Taipei International Invention Show & Technomart to Open in Public Expectation.

The 2006 Taipei International Invention Show & Technomart (INST) will begin a four-day run on 31 August through 3 September at the Taipei World Trade Center.  The 2006 INST is hosted by TIPO, Industrial Development Bureau, Department of Industrial Technology, Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, Bureau of Energy and organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Industrial Technology Research Institute, and Taiwan Technology Marketplace Service Center (TWTM) under the supervision of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the National Science Council, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Education.  The INST was launched last year attracting 42,000 buyers and visitors to attend the show.  The transactions consummated as of the 2005 INST amounted to a total of 3,000 million New Taiwan Dollars.  Aiming for higher achievements, the 2006 INST has been put together this year with the ambition to become the largest of its kind in Asia.

 

The show this year will have three theme areas totaling an area of 11,350M2 with 870 booths:  (1) the Taiwan and Foreign Invention Products area, (2) the Technomart area, and (3) the National Invention and Creation Award Winners area.  The Technomart area will comprise 10 sub-areas focusing on technology transfer, merchandizing, and advance technology and invention patents.  There will be exhibition of international patents, presentation and symposiums on international technology transfer and a technology agreements signing ceremony.  The show has been developed and organized to promote international technology patents exchange and attract foreign investment with a view to pooling inventions, innovations and investment to vitalize domestic and international technology exchange.

 

The TWTM operates on a membership basis with two major groups of members: technomart members and services operator members.  Any groups or individual who are interested in technology marketplace may join as a technomart member free of charge.  Special institutions operating IPR-related services may join as services operator members.  A member may use the TWTM information network to exchange technomart information.  Local and foreign-national businesses, research institutions and academic institutions may join as members to use the services provided by TWTM.  (2006.08)
