IPO to Propose Amendment to the Trademark Law by the End of 2006 the Soonest.

  With the scheduled establishment of IP Court in 2007, IPO plans to propose amendment to the Trademark Law to clarify the practices of illegal acts determination and relevant stipulation of infringement and also to institute a review committee which is to examine trademark and patent disputes directly by a three-person panel, with the purpose of replacing the committee of appeal under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and further simplifying the administrative remedial procedures.

  Following the enforcement of 3D and color trademarks registration application, the feasibility of scent mark registration will also be discussed.  (2006.9)
