Intellectual Property Court – Civil/Criminal Action Adopting Long-Distance Interrogation

 Intellectual Property Court (IPC) will commence operation on 1 July 2008, the new litigation system; according to Article 3 of the Intellectual Property Case Adjudication Act, all the competent IPC can adopt means of long-distance interrogation for examining the disputed matters.  The same act allow witness (as the current practice regulated in the Code of Civil Procedure and the Code of Criminal Procedure), concerned parties, representatives, agents, advocates, assistants ad litem, witness, verification experts or other related parties to an action to be examined on their premises where there is technological equipment enabling the live transmission of voice and image between their premises and the competent court for direct trial.
