 The Anti-counterfeiting Committee of Ministry of Economic Affairs indicated that the anti-counterfeiting activities of this country have continuously been performed together with the Investigation Bureau of Ministry of Justice, National Police Administration, Directorate General of Customs of Ministry of Finance and other relevant organizations to clam down on the illegal activities.  The value of the counterfeits seized from January to August this year accounts to 6.2 billion, with a growth rate of 40% as compared with last year.

 The Intellectual Property Office will hold a public hearing on November 30 for the enforcement of the “Optical Media Management Statute” to hear the opinions on raid actions against counterfeit CDs. The Ministry of Economic Affairs reiterated that the anti-counterfeiting activities have continuously been performed, and it shall adopt heavy punishments to comply with the enforcement of the “Optical Media Management Statute.”
