TSMC remains No. 1 on Taiwan 20 Most Innovative Company list

The Industrial Development Bureau of the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) announced the result of a survey with respect to the Top 20 Most Innovative Companies in Taiwan for 2015, and the technology companies are still accounting for the lion’s share as the most innovative industry in this country.  To demonstrate Taiwan’s creative paradigm and reflect international innovative standards, the MOEA has been working with the US-based management advisory firm, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to conduct the survey and compile the annual list of Most Innovative Companies in Taiwan for five years since 2011. 

According to the survey, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (TSMC), recognized as the world’s largest contract chip maker, sticks to the top ranking in the 2015 survey owing to its open innovation platform.  Another reason why TSMC strengthens its No. 1 position as the most innovative company in Taiwan is because it has created the strong Internet of Things system.  The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places of the list go to Asustek Computer Inc, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. and Largan Precision Co. Ltd.. Thanks to its technology for Internet of Things and innovative applications, Advantech Co. Ltd. soars to No. 8 this year to come out to head the list. 

In addition, precision machinery and traditional industries also spare no efforts to shine with their innovative power.  Taking the 9th and 13th place, respectively, Giant Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Hiwin Technologies Corp. also show their innovative capability in the fields of intelligent manufacturing and intelligent robots.  Another traditional textile company, Eclat Textile Co. Ltd. also demonstrate their innovative strength by launching value-added textile products.

It is noticeable that Hota Industrial Manufacturing Co. Ltd., a leading supplier of precision automotive transmission parts, gets its entry in the top 20 list for the first time.  The only newcomer on the top 20 list is honored due to its capability in coordinating development with international customers.

Innovative capability is also found in the service and financial companies.  Different from IT or technology companies that actualize their innovation in technologies and products, the companies from service industry and financial industry earn their innovative affirmation by applying innovative technologies to the services they provide, such as, Big Data, cloud platform, mobile Apps.

The top 20 most innovative companies in Taiwan for 2015 are TSMC, Asus Computer, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Largan Precision Co., President Chain Store Corp., MediaTek Inc., FamilyMart, Advantech Co., Giant Manufacturing Co., HTC Corp., Eclat Textile Co., Pxmart Co., Hiwin Technologies Corp., Yulon Motor Co., Wowprime Corp., Delta Electronics Inc., CTBC Financial Holding Co., Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd., Hota Industrial Manufacturing Co., and E.
