Asus Tops Taiwan 2016 Top 20 International Brands

On November 29, 2016, Industrial Development Bureau under MOEA announced the results of the 2016 Survey of Best Taiwan Global Brands.  AsusTek Computer Inc. retains its No. 1 position for the fourth consecutive year, followed by Trend Micro Incorporated and Want Want Holdings Ltd. in the ranking of No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.  CTBC Financial Holding Co., Ltd. is a newcomer in the top 20 ranking and makes an impressive debut at No. 4 on the chart by breaking through the internationalization threshold of the financial industry and by developing the integrated solutions platform and digital experience.  

According to the survey of the total brand value, the top 20 Taiwan’s best global brands come from a more diverse and comprehensive pool of industries as summarized below.  

1. Consumer electronics industry:  AsusTek Computer Inc. (with the brand value of USD1.748 billion, No. 1), Acer Inc. (with the brand value of USD4.26 hundred million, No. 7), and HTC Corp. (with the brand value of USD3.73 hundred million, No. 10).  

2. Sport and health care industry:  Giant Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (with the brand value of USD4.76 hundred million, No. 5), Merida Industry Co. Ltd. (with the brand value of USD4 hundred million, No. 8), Johnson Health Tech (with the brand value of USD1.52 hundred million, No. 17).  

3. Technology industry:  Trend Micro Incorporated (with the brand value of USD1.36 billion, No. 2), Advantech Co., Ltd. (with the brand value of USD4.36 hundred million, No. 6), MediaTek Inc. (with the brand value of USD3.77 hundred million, No. 9), Delta Electronics Inc. (with the brand value of USD2.25 hundred million, No. 15), and ZyXEL Communications Corp. (with the brand value of USD0.93 hundred million, No. 20).  

4. Financial services industry:  CTBC Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (with the brand value of USD5.06 hundred million, No. 4) and Chailease Holding Co., Ltd. (with the brand value of USD2.33 hundred million, No. 14).  

5. Food and beverage industry:  Want Want Holdings Ltd. (with the brand value of USD1.029 billion, No. 3), Gourmet Master Co., Ltd. (with the brand value of USD3.48 hundred million, No. 11), and Uni-President (with the brand value of USD1.99 hundred million, No. 16).

6. Beauty care and other industries:  Maxxis (with the brand value of USD3.17 hundred million, No. 12), Synnex Technology International Corp. (with the brand value of USD3.09 hundred million, No. 13), Transcend Information Inc. (with the brand value of USD1.42 hundred million, No. 18), and Chlitina (with the brand value of USD0.95 hundred million, No. 19).  

Five among the recognized 20 brands have seen their strong double-digit growths in brand value, which include Chlitina, Gourmet Master Co., Ltd., Advantech Co., Ltd., Delta Electronics Inc., and Uni-President.  

In general, the combined brand values of the top 20 Taiwan’s best global brands total USD9.243 billion in 2016, up 3.21% from that of 2015 (USD8.955 billion).  With the rise of technology and health consumption, there is a 6.25% increase in the brand value of the technology industry, while the sport and health care industry experiences a 4.08% growth.  (November 2016)
