Sale of fake Nintendo game cartridges involving huge amount of value

The 3rd Company of Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Second Special Police Corps uncovered counterfeit Nintendo game cartridges sold by two suspects who purchased from Taobao website a large quantity of cracked counterfeit Nintendo cartridges and R4 memory cards.  These fake cartridges sold well among Nintendo game players because one fake cartridge can be for use with hundreds of games.  The police seized a total of 200 fake game cartridges and R4 memory cards, which included 15,000 sets of game software involving the value of hundreds of millions of Taiwan dollars including the value of copyright infringed.  (May 2016)
