Gigastorage and Philips settle CD-R patent infringement lawsuits

　Gigastorage Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “Gigastorage”), a Taiwan-based maker of optical discs, announced on April 28, 2021 that it has reached a settlement and signed a confidential settlement agreement with Koninklijke Philips N.V. (hereinafter referred to as “Philips”) for all patent infringement lawsuits involving CD-R discs patent between Gigastorage and Philips.  According to the settlement agreement, all pending lawsuits between the two companies will be terminated and concluded accordingly (Taiwan IP Court judgment under docket Min-Zhuan-Su-Zi No. 38 and Taiwan IP Court judgment under docket Min-Zhuan-Shang-Geng-Zi No. 4).  (Released 2021.04.28)
